On the day after Christmas when all through the house
every climber was stirring
Even a mouse
The climbing shoes were packed in the backpacks with care
in hopes that good sending soon would be there
I can't think of anymore but it was pretty cool, huh? We went to Highlander crag in Clear Creek where Ben sent a 5.12b on his second try. It was epic! Kayleigh and my good friend Ryan climbed some cool routes. It was close to 60 degrees on December 26th!! I am going to take Ben over to the rec to do some setting with his new impact driver. I can't wait till break is over so I can relax.

Setting and more setting
Ben got to set with the BRC crew. He loved every minute of course. He set ten bouldering routes and they rock! I got all my shopping done so I guess the magi would be proud (they only had to shop for one gift though). Going outside climbing tomorrow with some folks from the rec so it should be an easy fun day for the kids.

Busy, Busy
We have had a really busy time lately. The first weekend of December we had 2 climbing comps in the same day. As you can imagine we had mixed results but had fun. Ben climbed at an ABS comp in Fort Collins at 9AM (we had to leave at the crack of dawn) and we stopped at Johnson's Corner for their "World Famous Cinnomon Rolls". They were pretty durn good too! Ben ended up feeling like he climbed terrible but got first place. Then we went to Boulder for comp #2. The comp was at the Spot and Kayleigh and Ben both climbed. Kayleigh had fun and climbed hard and got 5th place Ben was totally exhausted and ended up 13th. I was emotionally and physically spent and had a long ride home.
This past weekend (12/11) Ben had another comp. We went down to City Rock in Colorado Springs for their ABS comp. Ben has been doing comps there, well Monument, since he was 8 years old. He won another one and had fun. I will try to post some pics or video of some of this crap but I am not very good at this blogging thing yet.

Another busy weekend
We are about to embark on another busy weekend of climbing adventures. Ben has been setting routes for the highschool comp series and is going to do final tweaks to the routes Friday. Kayleigh is going to climb at the comp so she is constantly telling Ben to shut up about the routes. Ben is asking for a rechargable impact wrench for route setting. He may have a future job routesetting so it may be a good investment. We also have the Boulder Rock Club climbing series opener this weekend also. Then most likely outside climbing on Sunday and then I have a week to rest up before it starts all over again next weekend!

We stripped 4 routes including 2 on the arch! Saturday morning bright and early we were back in Boulder for climbing practice. After practice we went to The Spot for a few hours. Sunday we went climbing at Table Mountain in Golden Then we went over to Lifetime and Ben set a route. I am tired!

What to do first?
I guess I should start at the beginning. My kids like to climb and since we live in Colorado, I take then all over creation doing that. I will be posting our adventures, trials and tribulations on this blog. My daughter and I attended Psychedelia at The Spot ( www.thespotgym.com ) and had a blast. I will post some pictures later. Also I will post some earlier pics from the previous few years and maybe some video if I can figure out how to use all this newfangled stuff. Thanks for reading and stay in touch.
